Outfits of 2012 - Week 9

This was hanging out as a draft.  Jeez, I wasn't as far behind as I thought!

Maybe this doesn't seem super adventurous, but it is.  I love skulls and I love leopard print, but here's the thing: I've never worn them in public.  Well, with the exception of a perfectly normal-looking leopard print infinity scarf, I haven't.  This is a big deal for me, especially with the holes in the back of the shirt.  I'm a little miffed that the gray didn't separate the shirt and the leggings (which I will wear as pants no matter what anyone says.  I did it when I was four and I'll do it now.) so I look a little like a barge.  -_-

Outfits of 2012 - Week 8

Okay, so this is a big style moment.  This photo didn't turn out very well.  Besides the blurry quality, my nail polish looks red.  It's actually coral.  (The Right Thing - Nicole)  Here's the thing.  I hadn't hated a color more than I hated yellow in third grade (it looks like pee, duh) until I hated coral.  It started about the time I was a junior in high school.  It's pathetic, the amount of memory space I use for trivial things, but a friend of my then-boyfriend loved coral.  I hated her.  Obviously that meant I had to hate everything orangey-pink EVER.  I was at Target at the beginning of February and this typically $7 was more than half off.  The red sticker attracted me first.  Then it hit me.  I don't know what "it" is.  I just all of a sudden thought, "Hey, coral's okay."

Outfits of 2012 - Week 6

Okay, so you can't tell I even have a skirt on unless you search for it.  After taking the photos I realized it.  I'll be more conscientious of my suggestiveness next time.

Can I just say how excited I am about the color of these walls?  Love it.  It's too bright for a room in a house that doesn't have tiny children running around it, but I'm over that, too.

Apparently Remy was embarrassed by my bawdiness.  Oops.

Shirt - Target
Skirt - Kohl's (a coon's age ago)
Scarf - Target
Bag - Target
Tights - Kohl's
Boots - Famous Footwear
Oh, and the table was thrifted when I was like 12.  Still pretty spiffy.

I didn't do my nails this time.  I think I can have a free pass (to show myself).  I should've been more interested in doing them, but since school has started, I've been turning to Pinterest to avoid homework instead.

Also, I really love Jess Riley.  In a non-stalker sort of way.  I just think she's effing hilarious.  Driving Sideways had some funny parts, but right now, I'm just thanking God for her blog.

Outfits of 2012 - Week 5

I'm most excited about my new Roxy boots.  While at work one Sunday morning, I saw a girl walk in with these and fell in love instantly (with the boots, not the girl).  She indicated that she got them at Famous Footwear so I headed straight there after work.  I found them (!) and on clearance to boot (no pun intended)!  I included a side shot mostly to prove that they're not slippers, like my brother's been saying since I bought them.  They have a legit sole and while I had to spray weather-proofing on them, they've held up impressively well to all the slushy snow business we've got.

Boots- Famous Footwear
Coat- Delia's
Jeans- Charlotte Russe
Thermal top- Target
Necklace- thrifted

Oh, and I just need to add that I really dislike gold.  Like to the max.  But something's gotten into me lately and as long as it's not jewelry, I'm not hating it quite as much.  This needed to be documented for reference later, when I'm so far gone that my steps will need to be re-traced.

Outfits of 2012 - Week 4

My first thought seeing these was, "Really? My mom thought I'd like these?" so I totally understand if you think they're ridiculous and can't even believe they were marketed.  BUT I love them now.  Besides being fun, they're super handy as hair holders.  I hate putting metal in my hair (I don't even own hair ties with the metal, strictly the glue.  Also, all of the brushes and combs with metal bristles and teeth were banished from my drawers years ago.) but these are somehow non-destructive.  If you're gentle.

Cardigan - Target
Dress - Aerie
Tights - Target
Boots - Charlotte Russe
Pink polish - Essie - Bachelorette Bash
Pink glitter - Finger Paints - Hue Left A Message?

This was nowhere near the edge of my comfort zone, yet I feel like I've accomplished something.  And I just love the tights.  I pretty much had a coronary in the aisle when I spotted them.

Outfits of 2012 - Week 3

Look what finally arrived!!!

I was very excited to try this out.  I read quite a few reviews on them before purchasing it and I have to admit, I was scared about burning myself.  The lack of a clamp was both frightening (I'm not super graceful anyway) and stirring.

I like how much better my hair looks than it does when using a "normal" curling iron.  I feel like it looks much more natural.  Also, it took way less time.

Flannel shirt - Target
Skirt - Abercrombie clearance
Leggings & Cardigan - American Eagle
Boots - Charlotte Russe
Necklace - Etsy shop carnivalpetite
