Outfits of 2012 - Week 9

This was hanging out as a draft.  Jeez, I wasn't as far behind as I thought!

Maybe this doesn't seem super adventurous, but it is.  I love skulls and I love leopard print, but here's the thing: I've never worn them in public.  Well, with the exception of a perfectly normal-looking leopard print infinity scarf, I haven't.  This is a big deal for me, especially with the holes in the back of the shirt.  I'm a little miffed that the gray didn't separate the shirt and the leggings (which I will wear as pants no matter what anyone says.  I did it when I was four and I'll do it now.) so I look a little like a barge.  -_-

Outfits of 2012 - Week 8

Okay, so this is a big style moment.  This photo didn't turn out very well.  Besides the blurry quality, my nail polish looks red.  It's actually coral.  (The Right Thing - Nicole)  Here's the thing.  I hadn't hated a color more than I hated yellow in third grade (it looks like pee, duh) until I hated coral.  It started about the time I was a junior in high school.  It's pathetic, the amount of memory space I use for trivial things, but a friend of my then-boyfriend loved coral.  I hated her.  Obviously that meant I had to hate everything orangey-pink EVER.  I was at Target at the beginning of February and this typically $7 was more than half off.  The red sticker attracted me first.  Then it hit me.  I don't know what "it" is.  I just all of a sudden thought, "Hey, coral's okay."

Because quizzes in school aren't enough...

1. I started my blog because: I wanted to document how I change and also everything going on.  It'll be cool to look back this with my hubby someday, even if I have to belt him to a chair to make him look.  ;)

2. One thing I love seeing on other blogs are: Outfit posts.  I love them.  And also, collections of things.  The Dainty Squid has tons of those and I could look 500 times at the same posts.  Also, anecdotes and crafty things make me smile.

3. Something I love about blogging: I really love feeling like anyone could come across my little part of the internet at any moment.  Making connections is enjoyable, even if it's just over a mutual feeling about clothes.

4. A favorite blog post of mine:  I don't really have a favorite.  I don't think that any are riveting, I'm just contributing to watching myself grow, basically.

5. Something my friends in real life know about me that I've never before mentioned on my blog: I have a sailor mouth.  Or maybe I have mentioned it.

6. My new favorite blogs to read are: peace-love-lauren  (is this not the cutest thing ever?)   peppermint plum     wake up, lovely     amy     susannah    elycia

How do I even have time for classes?

7. Some things I tend to avoid doing on my blog are: preaching, whining, swearing (I think)

The One Day We Get Permission To Love

When I was three years old, my grandpa died.  On Valentine's Day.  So maybe it seems a bit crazy for me to be infatuated with everything pink and red (even though my mom's been telling me forever that they clash) and sugary.  I love hearts and glitter and I love love.  So although I think about my grandpa even more than usual on this day, (yeah, I was three, but I spent a LOT of time with him, so I remember quite a bit.  Kind of unbelievable, especially because of my awful memory now) I like to surround myself with paper crafts and pretties and candy.  It's no longer a time for sadness, even at the cemetery.

valentines day gift?
Someday I'll have these.
These are usually a pretty big part of my V Day.  But I really am partial to the larger ones.
I miss making these!
Love it!  This is kind of like this tutorial (which I found via Apple Blue via The Dainty Squid, of course) <3
I'd love to start this project.
Valentines Day Flowers
These are the only kind of flowers I want this year.

I feel like this would be a good investment.  Yeah it's ridiculous and no it won't stop me.

Of course I had to see what Tori had to say about the fashion aspect...I think I'll opt for some red leggings and a pink dress.  Or perhaps the opposite.  Either way, I'll be spending some money on a lovely new outfit.

Speaking of love...
